Change is in the Air

As November draws to a close, our thoughts turn to Christmas and the fast approaching new year. So much fun and food on the way and so many festivities in store! And while the park is closed for the month of December, we’re still working behind the scenes and making plans for Spring. And that’s where we’d like a little help from you.\n\nWe’ve been hosting birthday parties at the park for longer than we can remember, and we love doing it. Currently, we offer three different party packages and a variety of add-on options. But we think it’s time to evaluate, and perhaps change our packages, and that’s where you come in. We’d like your feedback first. We want to know what you think!\n\nSo with that in mind, we’ve developed a very short Birthday Party Survey. (Really, it’s short and simple).\n\nWe value your opinion and would appreciate your input as we try to improve our Birthday Party services. So please take a minute and tell us how we can best meet your birthday party needs in the future.\n

Thanks so much for your participation!

Giving Thanks

Perhaps this week more than any other, we all focus on giving thanks. And here at Funderland we’re reminded how healthy it is to actually voice our thankfulness. While we are thankful for our customers and employees all year long, we wanted to stop and take this opportunity to say it loud and clear: Thank you! Thanks for spending time with us and supporting us. We appreciate each and every one of you!\n\nWe’d also like to take a moment and share some of the thankful thoughts from the people behind the scenes and behind the rides, our fantastic employees. They’re a great group of people–silly, serious, and steadfast–and here’s what they had to say.\n\n“I’m thankful for warm opportunities in this chilly weather and spending time with family and friends. It has a cool way of driving us all together.” –John\n\n“I’m thankful for my family.” –Rachel\n\n“I’m thankful for basically everything that’s good in life.” –Kirk\n\n“I’m thankful for my daughter Scarlett. And I love my wife. Those are the two biggest things in my life right now.” –Trey\n\n“I’m thankful there is no zombie apocalypse … yet.” –Beatriz\n\n“I’m thankful for my family, plain and simple. I come from a big family.” –Lizette\n\n“I’m thankful for the smile on customers’ faces.” –Brian\n\n“I’m thankful for being alive.” –Alicia\n\n“I’m thankful to have this job for which I get to make people smile every day. I get to be part of their magical memories. I’m thankful for great bosses, great employees, and my family.” –Maria\n\n“I’m really thankful that they hired me here at Funderland.” –Johnny\n\n“I’m totally thankful for my mom and my sister. And for my friends for sure.” –Marie\n\n“I’m thankful for peace, love, and happiness.” –Francesca\n\n“I’m thankful most for my family who support me and motivate me to do well. And my friends to goof around with. During the year all that gets lost, and the holidays remind us that a lot of us are lucky.” –Wendy\n\nAnd with that, from our family here at Funderland to yours, we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! (And we look forward to seeing you this weekend!)

How to Celebrate Small Business Saturday

Did you know Saturday November 24th is called Small Business Saturday? Why? Well, the idea is to encourage and financially support small, local businesses during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. These businesses often get eclipsed by big box retail and e-commerce on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So Saturday is a day to go local.\n\nIn honor of the day, we’re running our own special. When you check into Funderland Park on Facebook on November 24th, you’ll get two free tickets! So we hope you come out to the park, dodge a little of the mall chaos, and take a spin (or two or three…) on some of our fabulous rides.\n\nAnd, not to be outdone by the “big boys,” we’re featuring a Black Friday Special too! When you come to the park on Friday November 23rd and purchase a 2013 Season Pass, you’ll get a free cup of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and sprinkles!\n\nOh, FYI, our friends next door at Fairytale Town have a Black Friday special as well. They’re offering free admission on November 23rd to families who bring in a canned food item. For more information, click here.\n\nAnd the Food & Toy Drive will be in full swing over at our other neighbors, the Sacramento Zoo. They’re giving $1 off on Zoo admission when you bring in a non-perishable food item or a new and unwrapped toy. More details here.\n\nSo a cornucopia of delights awaits you! Why not make a weekend of it? We hope you come on out and go local Thanksgiving weekend. And bring your family and friends!\n\n

Early Thanksgiving Thoughts

With the beginning of November, our thoughts turn to thanksgiving, the holiday and the act. While things slow down a little at the park, we’re thankful for the gorgeous Fall weather that allows us to be open this month. In fact, we love the crisp, clean sunny days. All you need is a sweater and perhaps a stylish scarf, and you’re ready to ride the Red Baron!\n\nSo, as the weather permits, we’ll be open Friday–Sunday throughout November. We hope you take advantage of the beautiful weekends that come along and come out to ride and walk around the park.\n\nPlus, we have a few perks awaiting you this month. To add a little sweetness to your Thanksgiving celebration, we’re running a Black Friday special. When you come to the park Friday November 23rd and buy a 2013 Season Pass, you’ll get a free cup of hot chocolate, complete with whipped cream and sprinkles! And you can start using your pass that very day. So why fight your way through the mall when you could be sauntering through the park sipping hot chocolate and watching the kids work off all that excess energy?\n\nAnd if that’s not enough, we’ve also got a Small Business Saturday special. When you come on Saturday November 24th and check into Funderland Park on Facebook, you’ll get two free tickets! Wowzer! What’s not to like about free?\n\nSo we hope you make us a part of your Thanksgiving festivities this year.\n
